A rocket scientist at JPL and a single mother who’s forced to be the boss, Carol is also a force to be reckoned with.  A humorless and staunchly disapproving mother to Tinsel and equally judgmental daughter to Grace, Carol nevertheless has a secret penchant for “I Love Lucy” re-runs and mid-day glasses of white wine. But it’s Carol’s ‘aversion to shiny things’, which turns out to be her highest hurdle – especially since her daughter is a shiny thing named Tinsel.
