Tinsel, Live AT VIDCON!
As part of the show’s unique style of cross-platform storytelling, Tinsel has appeared twice at VidCon, the world’s largest convention of digital creators and their fans.
VICONNED
Doing cosplay as PENELOPE PITSTOP from the Wacky Races, Tinsel crashed the VidCon Official Pre-Party at K-1 Speedway, where she turned a taco truck waitressing gig, into a minor hostessing gig, and then into a starring role as the evening’s Official Flag Waver – which culminated in her racetrack-rattling rendition of the Star Bangled Banner. From taco slinging to anthem singing, not bad for a night’s work, especially for Tinsel.
VIDCON RED CARPET
In an effort to not have her Vidcon day outshine her Vidcon night, Tinsel abandoned the red carpet and A/C of the convention hall and endured the red-hot cement of an Anaheim summer afternoon to conduct a slew of red carpet interviews with both YouTube stars and convention attendees. And of course, there was also a bit of self-promotion, just to balance things out.
With the help of an impromptu spelling bee, a Rorschach test and a clever disguise, Tinsel gets access, answers, laughs, and (in a first) pelted with breakfast sausage.
